- Radiant element heats on high only
- The infinite switch rather than the element. A cheap part and an easy problem to diagnose the wrong way round.
- Induction hob shuts down partway through cooking
- The cooling fan or a board temperature sensor, not the glass. Induction protects itself early, so an error is often a warning rather than a problem.
- Induction does not recognize a pan
- The pan rather than the cooktop, in most cases. If a magnet does not stick to the base, the hob cannot see it, and no repair changes that.
- Cracked glass surface
