We are Cooktop Repair experts in Walnut Creek
Cooktops sit in the counter, so a repair is as much about getting the unit out and back in without damaging stone as it is about the problem itself. The problems are usually straightforward: igniters and spark modules on gas, elements and infinite switches on radiant, fans and boards on induction.
Gas, radiant and induction cooktops: burners that will not stay lit, elements that stopped heating and surfaces that shut themselves down mid-cook.
Why you need Cooktop Repair
If you notice any of these, it is time to call:
- One burner clicking constantly, even when off
- A spark module firing because moisture or spillage has bridged an electrode. Cleaning usually ends it.
- Burner lights then goes out when released
- The thermocouple or flame sensor is not confirming a flame, so the safety valve closes. That is the system working correctly.
- Radiant element heats on high only
- The infinite switch rather than the element. A cheap part and an easy problem to diagnose the wrong way round.
- Induction hob shuts down partway through cooking
- The cooling fan or a board temperature sensor, not the glass. Induction protects itself early, so an error is often a warning rather than a failure.
- Induction does not recognize a pan
- The pan rather than the cooktop, in most cases. If a magnet does not stick to the base, the hob cannot see it, and no repair changes that.
- Cracked glass surface
- The one problem we cannot economically repair on most models. We say so quickly rather than charge for a diagnosis that reaches an obvious conclusion.
Brands we repair for Cooktop Repair
Dacor, DCS, Electrolux, Fisher & Paykel, GE, Bertazzoni, Bosch, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Miele, Thermador, Viking, Wolf, JennAir, Kenmore, La Cornue, LG, Monogram, Maytag, Samsung, Whirlpool and every other major manufacturer.
When you call us about a cooktop, the first thing that happens is a real diagnosis. A licensed technician measures, tests and reads the appliance’s own fault history before naming a part, because two very different failures often look identical from the outside and cost very different amounts.
What the visit actually involves
You get an arrival window rather than an open-ended day. The technician confirms the problem, quotes a flat price covering parts and labor, and only then opens anything up.
Our vans carry the parts that actually fail on this appliance, which is why most cooktop repairs finish on the first visit. Anything that has to be ordered normally lands within a few business days, and we book the return slot before we leave.
Brands we repair for this appliance
We service Bosch, Samsung, LG, KitchenAid, Frigidaire and every other major brand that builds this appliance. Brand matters more than most people expect: a Bosch and a Frigidaire can present the identical problem for entirely different reasons, and the diagnostic route is different for each.
Repair or replace?
We will give you a straight answer. The rule we use ourselves: if the repair costs more than half of a comparable new appliance and the unit is past two thirds of its expected service life, replacement is usually the better spend. Below that line, and on almost any built-in or panel-ready unit, repair wins comfortably. We would rather lose one job than sell you a part you should not buy.
